Crock Pot Chocolate Candy Balls

Let’s all admit that we’re pretty much obsessed with chocolate. The sooner we can say it, the better. And since your slow cooker can pretty much do anything and cook anything these days, it just makes sense to add homemade candy balls to your radar as well.

They’re delicious, they’re easy, and they’re hands-down a zillion times better than anything you’re going to buy at the store.

What can you use for the outside layer of these chocolate balls?

Literally anything you want. We’ve used all types of crushed nuts, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut, powdered sugar, and the list goes on and on.

If you’re craving it, try it. It’s as simple as that!

How do you store crockpot chocolate once made?

The main thing to keep in mind is that you’re probably not going to have any leftover…BUT if you’re lucky and you do, store them in an airtight container and keep them in the fridge.

This will keep them fresh and ready until you’re chowing down on them again.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped hazelnuts (or any nut)
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 1/2 pounds dark chocolate candy melts
  • 3/4 cups Nutella or peanut butter
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds

How to make Slow Cooker Chocolate Candy Balls

Spray a 4-quart crockpot with non-stick cooking spray or use a liner.

Place a thin layer of chopped nuts on the bottom of the crockpot. This helps prevent scorching.

Place a layer of semi-sweet chocolate chips on top of the nuts.

Place a layer of dark chocolate candy melts on top of the chocolate chips.

Cook on low 3 hours.

Stir in Nutella or peanut butter.

Dropped by heaping tablespoon-sized portions into liners (mini-muffin pan).

Use a spoon to work into rounded balls as the chocolate cools.

Generously sprinkle with sunflower seeds, butter nut crunch, granola, or other toppings of your choice.

You can add any add-ins you’d like or swap the dark chocolate melts for white chocolate. Try swirling a bit of jam instead of Nutella or peanut butter, or adding Rice Krispies cereal into the melted chocolate for crunch! The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!
