2020 will go down in history as the longest year ev-errrrrr. As we approach its final countdown I think we can all agree that we’ve had just about as much as we can take thankyouverymuch.
And as bad as it has been, every once in a while, amidst the joyless dark wasteland of a global pandemic and depressing newsreels, the internet gods serve up a shining oasis. Halle-freaking-lujah.
The latest gift from the gods? A video of a dad hilariously dance-bombing his adorable daughter’s craft tutorial.
Unbeknownst to him, his daughter just happened to be uploading the video to her school Seesaw app at the time. Thus giving her unsuspecting teacher a front-row seat to the best dance show in town. To which I am sure she is eternally grateful.
Mom, Jennifer Jones, decided to spread the cheer (and we are sooooo glad she did) and posted it to her Facebook page.
The 2-minute and 30-second video has gone viral garnering over 2.7M views in just a few short days. Which is no surprise, because if this doesn’t make you laugh a little too hysterically (hello 2020), nothing will.
Jennifer captioned her post with the words:
I was checking Delaney’s seesaw (app for school) and she often will send her teachers random videos wishing them well, or goodnight, or just talking to talk.
Well…. I found this as a sent video from earlier today. I hope her teacher laughed as hard as I did….
How’s your distance learning going?
Like millions of kids across the United States, Delaney is homeschooling.
On this particular day, the first-grade student was going about her business creating an art tutorial when her dad decided to get in on the action. Scratch that. He WAS the action.
“So today we’re going to be doing some crafts. Alexa play Kidz Bop Kidz.”
At one point her dad yells out, “Ahhh!” and Delaney FINALLY acknowledges his existence. She deadpans, “that’s my dad,” and goes right back to her project. Clearly, this ain’t her first rodeo.
Up until now, Delaney has managed to keep it together. This girl is obviously going places. Her ability to stay calm in the midst of chaos is a life skill most adults don’t have. But everyone has their breaking point.
“What is wrong with this family? I’m just trying to do a piece of fine art!”
Delaney quickly pulls it together and while her dad moves back into the background, toddler in tow, Delaney speaks to the camera (and her teacher, who at this point is likely rolling on the floor with laughter.)
“Since I haven’t got to see you and I miss my teachers, I just want to do this for you to spread some Christmas cheer, you know that.”
Oh, you’re spreading the cheer all right! As for her dad? Things are getting wild and crazy up in the club.
*update* Daddy thought she was just making a “tutorial” like she typically does. He didn’t know she uploaded it to seesaw and sent it to her 1st grade teacher!
Your style is very unique compared to other people I have read stuff from.
Many thanks for posting when you have the opportunity,
Guess I will just bookmark this page.
