Meredith! Picking your battles is the sign of a mature parent. I must agree with you because it’s what I do. 😉 And don’t worry…even when they’re adults, they need you in totally different ways & they will always be there!
My two older children, 22 and 19, were from my first marriage & I was a FEARFUL, TOTALLY NEUROTIC mother to these two, but they turned out amazing thankfully….but now my 22 year old tells me that I am TOO LENIENT on my third child (new father & we are parenting together as my first husband passed away so I parented my older two alone from 9&5 years on up)….anyway, I have learned to pick my battles with my third child & I realize that he is a kid & he needs grace just like we do! And hell, to be honest, I’m just more tired so I am not as on top of it as I was with my other two! lol
Anyway, I can relate totally! Thank you both for being amazing! Love your podcast!
