In Trending News – Maryland family asked to leave Outback Steakhouse because son with special needs was too loud

Section Intro

A Maryland woman was given restaurant credit after she and her family were asked to leave an Outback Steakhouse restaurant by a manager who said her son with special needs was the subject of a noise complaint.

Section Notes

In a post on social media detailing the incident, Amanda Braun said she’s not likely to use the credit. Braun and her family were told they needed to “finish (their) meals and leave” about five minutes after their food arrived at the table, she said in a Facebook post

Braun’s 4-year-old son, Killian, was born with a neurological disorder called childhood apraxia of speech. According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, a child with apraxia of speech knows what he or she wants to say, but signals from the brain controlling muscles for speech aren’t relayed correctly. Bruan told WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., that there was some noise but Killian was acting as he usually does at the same restaurant.

“This gentleman said that he received a noise complaint for my child,” Braun wrote on Facebook. “He said that he was very uncomfortable coming to our table to tell us that but unfortunately we needed to finish our meals and leave. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I was in total shock!”

“As an apology he gave us a $20 (O)utback credit to use at a later date,” Braun wrote in her Facebook post. “But needless to say there isn’t going to be a later date. Why would I subject my son and the rest of my family to that type of discrimination? What would ever make me want to return? Would we be asked to leave again if my son were too be loud?”

“We strive to make sure all guests feel comfortable and welcomed in our restaurants and we fell short,” Watts said. “We’re learning from what happened and training our team so we can better serve our diverse guest population.”

Parenting Crap – Parents have 32 minutes of me-time every day, says depressing study

Section Intro

Parents have just 32 minutes to themselves every day and many have to hide from their kids to get a breather, according to new data. A study into the everyday lives of 2,000 moms and dads found that the typical parent has just over 30 minutes to themselves every day once work and parenting duties are tended to. And, with free time hard to come by, the average parent polled said they take to hiding from their children four times a week to carve out space.

Section Notes

That’s because 32 percent of parents don’t actually stop “working” until at least 8 p.m. when parenting duties have been factored in.

The new survey, conducted by meal delivery service Munchery, found free time is ever elusive, if not non-existent when you’re a full-time working parent as they each spend 18 hours, on average, directly taking care of their kids every week. And a hectic 24 percent of parents spend more than 30 hours every week directly taking care of their kids in addition to other responsibilities.

Also added to the mix are six car journeys per week taking children to school and other various activities, while parents rack up five trips to the grocery store per week, and have to deal with their kids acting out and misbehaving an average of five times per week as well.

That kind of schedule doesn’t exactly lend itself to a plethora of free time. And parents’ busy schedules tend to negatively affect their diet, according to the data. Eighty-eight percent of parents admit to being too busy to cook, and 96 percent reported that not having enough time to cook results in them indulging in less healthy food.

In fact, parents are so busy that they actually skip 227 proper meals every year — and takeout is a popular option when time is running thin and dinnertime is right around the corner. Over half (54 percent) of parents say the biggest reason they get takeout is because they’re too busy.

In Love and Marriage – Here’s How Strong Your Sex Drive Is, According to Your Zodiac Sign

Section Intro

When it comes to getting frisky, your libido plays a major role. Sure, other factors are at play, like a busy schedule, kids, traveling, how attracted you are to your partner (and hopefully you’re super attracted to them!), and more, but if you have a high sex drive, you’ll make sure to prioritize an active sex life no matter what. But besides these factors, your zodiac sign might influence your sexual urges, too. Apparently, some signs are more likely to get hot and heavy on the regular as opposed to others, simply because they crave it more. Curious where you stand? Here’s the ranking of the signs’ sex drives from greatest to smallest, according to astrologer Dossé-Via Trenou-Wells, founder of KnowTheZodiac and in-house astrologer for SexZodiac.

Section Notes

1 Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Known as the sex sign of the zodiac, Scorpios are ruled by their reproductive organs, so yeah, it’s safe to say they’re at No. 1. “That doesn’t mean they’ll get in bed with just anyone, though,” Dossé-Via said. “Scorpios are often super selective and have high standards, so you’ll have to match their sexual and emotional intensity to be deemed as worthy.”

2 Aries (March 21-April 19)

Ruled by Mars, the planet of action, Aries often think about sex. “Their libido and sex drive is quite high because they’re an action-oriented, passionate sign,” she said. “Sex is as natural to them as breathing, and sex with an Aries is an unforgettable, hot, and fiery experience that leaves their partners wanting more.”

3 Taurus (April 20-May 20)

This sign loves passion and cuddling. Ruled by Venus, the planet of love, Tauruses are all about sensual loving and romance. “Their sex drive undergoes periods of extremes — either they’ll last all night long or they’ll just want to spoon and cuddle the night away,” Dossé-Via revealed.

4 Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

The dreamer of the zodiac, Pisces love romantic, all-consuming sexual and romantic experiences that help them escape from reality a bit. “If their heart feels safe with you, they’ll merge their body with yours and you’ll have an orgasmic experience,” she said. In fact, their sex drive may surprise you because they seem so innocent on the outside, but in reality, they can be beasts in the bedroom.

5 Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

This fiery lion sign loves having all eyes on them, especially in the bedroom. “If they’re with a partner who knows how to charm, woo, and seduce them, their sexual libido will be through the roof,” she said. Leos also know how to amp up their partner’s ego and keep their sex drive quite high, too, as they love showing off.

6 Cancer (June 20-July 22)

Sex comes naturally to them, although trust comes slowly. “If you’re lucky enough to be trusted by a Cancer, you’ll get an inside look at just how horny they can be and just how high their sexual libido is,” Dossé-Via continued. The more intimately tied they are to their partner, the greater their sex drive is and the more focused on their partner’s pleasure they become. Which is great for those dating them, right?

7 Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

While Saturn-ruled Capricorns get a reputation for always being so serious and dedicated to work, they also go hard in the bedroom. “Their legendary tenacity and perseverance pays off sexually because they can keep their stamina up longer than most zodiac signs,” she said.

8 Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Sagittarius is fiery and flirtatious, often ready to initiate a sexual experience just for fun. “Their drive and libido is therefore high, but because they can get bored easily, it’s not always sustainable,” she explained. To fix this, keep sex interesting and try new toys and tricks regularly.

9 Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, Geminis tend to be verbal communicators when having sex, so they will let their partners know when they’re feeling turned on and when they just want their own space. “Their sex drive and libido can therefore be hot and cold at times, but when they’re in the mood, it’s an unstoppable force of nature,” she said.

10 Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Virgos are highly sexual beings, but they’re often in their own heads, thinking of their to-do list. “This makes it harder for them to be fully present with their partner in a consistent way,” Dossé-Via said. “Sometimes they put sex on the back-burner, which only causes them to become sexually frustrated.” But when they prioritize sex, the wild side of Virgo comes out.

11 Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Libras are more of the hopeless romantic type than the sex fanatic type. “They’re great in bed, but they prefer to feel balance rather than extreme emotions, so their sex drive is more even-keeled than other zodiac signs,” she explained. It’ll never be totally lacking, but it also won’t be bringing the heat at all times.

12 Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

An Aquarius is often so lost in their thoughts that they don’t always prioritize sex, which makes them on the lower end if they’re too preoccupied. “They make love with their minds first, so although they do have a strong libido and sex drive, it’s not always the main thing they focus on in relationships,” she said. They’d get turned on by an intellectual debate, though, so maybe use that for foreplay.
