Easy to prepare, but full of flavor, these Creamy Garlic Pork Chops are a sure-fire family dinner hit.
Ingredients:
- 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, for a bit of tang)
- 1 teaspoon thyme or rosemary (fresh or dried)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Generously season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil or butter. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear them for about 3-4 minutes per side until they’re golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the chopped onions. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard (if using), thyme or rosemary, and Parmesan cheese (if using). Let it simmer for a couple of minutes to thicken slightly.
- Place the pork chops back in the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let them cook for 8-10 minutes until the pork chops are cooked through (internal temperature of 145°F / 63°C).
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed veggies!
