Christmas music has always been one of my favorite things about the holidays. Listening to familiar tunes while baking gingerbread cookies, decorating the tree, or wrapping presents helps set the mood and put everyone into the Christmas spirit. That’s why I was so excited to receive David Ian’s Vintage Christmas Wonderland CD for review (and to share the talent and great music with you!).
A pianist and arranger, David Ian has put together a delightful jazz combination of traditional Christmas tunes including The First Noel and Jingle Bells, among others. I found myself tapping away and humming along while rocking my babies the other day! As the title suggests, David sought to create a vintage sound, one that harks back to classic jazz and Christmas LPs of the 1950?s. And he nailed it! Smooth and classical genius! I just loved his rendition of Winter Wonderland!
