Our Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan is the weeknight family dinner we need. It’s easy to put together, simple to cook, and yummy in everyone’s belly.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked pasta or spaghetti for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Dredge each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
  3. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and brown the chicken breasts on both sides for about 2-3 minutes per side. This step is optional but adds extra flavor.
  4. Place the browned chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  5. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken breasts, making sure they are well-covered.
  6. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  7. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over each chicken breast.
  8. Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, the dish is ready to be served.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
  10. Serve the slow-cooked Chicken Parmesan over cooked pasta or spaghetti.
