Our Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan is the weeknight family dinner we need. It’s easy to put together, simple to cook, and yummy in everyone’s belly.
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
- Cooked pasta or spaghetti for serving
Instructions:
- In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat and brown the chicken breasts on both sides for about 2-3 minutes per side. This step is optional but adds extra flavor.
- Place the browned chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Pour marinara sauce over the chicken breasts, making sure they are well-covered.
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over each chicken breast.
- Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, the dish is ready to be served.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
- Serve the slow-cooked Chicken Parmesan over cooked pasta or spaghetti.
