This Steak and Cabbage Stir-Fry is quick, delicious, and sure to become a favorite in your family dinner recipe rotation.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 small head of cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for cooking
- Green onions, chopped, for garnish (optional)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and black pepper. Let it marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated beef to the hot wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until browned. Remove the beef from the wok and set it aside.
- In the same wok, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Add minced garlic and sliced onion, stir-frying until the onion becomes translucent.
- Add the sliced cabbage to the wok and continue to stir-fry for 3-5 minutes or until the cabbage is tender but still crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the wok and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more soy sauce, oyster sauce, or black pepper to taste.
- Serve the black pepper beef and cabbage stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
