Hey friends,

Can you do me a favor, please? If you have a sec.

Could you check on your mom friends? We are really struggling.

Because we are tired.

We are so. dang. tired.

Moms are tired, because, for the life of us, we can’t figure out how to fix broken popsicles.

Moms are tired, because here we are at the beginning of June, and we feel like we normally do at the end of August.

Moms are tired because we hunkered down and isolated with our families for months, but somehow it’s starting to feel like we did it all for nothing.

Moms are tired because, while many are returning to work, childcare options are still few and far between.

Moms are tired because we’re not even sure we feel safe sending our kids to school, even if we could.

Moms are tired, because we’re sick of having to explain over and over again why our kids can or can’t do something, even when “all the other kids” are doing it.

Moms are tired because we’re being judged on whether or not our kids can or can’t do something, even when “all the other kids” are doing it.

Moms are tired because we haven’t had a break in months.

Moms are tired because we are cooking roughly 6,409 meals a day. Plus snacks.

Moms are tired because our kids are acting like little jerks, as kids do.

Moms are tired because even if we have the most supportive partner ever, it’s still ridiculously hard to stay connected during a pandemic.

Moms are tired because the world feels like such a dark and ugly place right now.

Moms are tired because there’s so much pressure on us to do better, to not let this generation that we’re raising down, to say the right things in the right way at the right time, always.

Moms are tired because we’ve been yelling at our kids all day.

Moms are tired because of the guilt we feel for yelling at our kids all day.

Moms are tired because even when everything stopped, we had to keep going.

Moms are tired because we haven’t had the chance to sit and grieve what the last several months have taken from us.

Moms are tired because we still feel unseen in many ways, but our own mental health has taken a back seat to worrying about the mental health of our loved ones.

Moms are tired because we haven’t been able to decompress or relieve stress in the same ways we used to.

Moms are tired because there isn’t enough coffee in the world to push through this kind of fatigue.

So please, friends, if you’re able . . .

Check on your mom friends.

We are just so tired.

And try as we might,

We still haven’t found a way to fix broken popsicles.
