Five UK Moms Decide To Direct A Porn Film And Show It TO Their Kids

Parents today do a lot of things that I don’t always agree with, but I usually have the mantra – do what’s best for you and your family, and then I do what I think is best for my family and we all live happily ever after minding our own business.

Rarely do I question why well-meaning, good parents do what they do, even if it’s something like breastfeeding until a kid is nine years old, or dragging a kid through the airport by the hood of a coat.

Good parents are typically doing the best they can, and trying hard to do what’s best for their kids, too. But, since we aren’t perfect, sometimes we just miss the mark.

That’s what I think is happening with the five moms in the UK that decided to create a porn movie and show it to their kids.

Wait. WHAT????

As if parents don’t have enough to fight today with MOMO and secret suicide messages in kids’ cartoons, we also have to worry constantly about our kids being exposed to porn. It’s everywhere from movies, YouTube, Apps, and probably in the halls of high school. Because – smart phones.

According to The Sun, five moms with teenagers decided to take matters into their own hands when they realized how violent porn was. They decided to direct and create their own porn movie and watch it with their kids.

Because of course every teenager wants to watch porn with their mom! *shudder*

The thinking behind their idea, “Mums Make Porn” is that they will introduce their kids to a normal type of porn.

Ummm. OK.

Their mission was to create a film that’s not only pornographic, but also promotes healthy attitudes toward sex and relationships for the next generation.

Look, I’m all about having talks with our kids about sex. I’m even a big fan of starting it young, because kids today are hearing it in elementary school. But, making a porn movie and having a viewing party? Yeah, no.

The thing is, porn is porn. And even mom made porn can have damaging effects on kids and their developing brains. Yes, talk to your kids about pornography, but KNOW what you’re talking about.

Just because porn is violence free, and free of exploitation of women, doesn’t make it good for our kids

Don’t believe me? Here are a few statistics about pornography parents need to know from Fight The New Drug

“-Almost all kids see internet porn before age 14 | The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) recently conducted a survey in the UK of more than 1,000 children aged 11-16, and found that at least half had been exposed to online porn. Of this group, almost all (94%) have seen it by age 14.

-Porn doesn’t help kids understand consent

-Porn makes young consumers anxious about sex

Porn fuels child on child sexual assault

Porn can make young male consumers more sexist

-Porn leads to less sexual satisfaction and performance anxiety

-Porn consumption can result in low sex drive in teens”

So, how can making a porn film and showing it to their kids possibly be a good thing? I’m sorry, but I don’t see it.

YES, we need to talk about violence against women. Let’s talk about human sex trafficking and how many women in porn movies are trafficked. Yes, we need to talk about pornography. YES, we need to make our kids get a good understanding of consensual, healthy sexual relationships. But, make a porn movie?

To be clear, the moms are not starring in the movie (thank goodness for small miracles) but are directing it. They did their research by talking to industry experts, and watching violent porn that even made some of them vomit.

But, they still want their kids to watch porn. Just “good healthy porn” I guess.

Look, I admire some moms trying to fight toxic masculinity. But, how do you decide which kids are at an appropriate age to watch it, and how do you sit in a room with your mom and your friends watching porn?

The porn film is going to be shown to the kids during the final episode of their TV show documenting the whole experience.

OK – let’s recap.

  • They are making a porno and a TV show.
  • They are showing the porno to their kids (and their friends) ON a TV show.
  • Then they are hoping it normalizes sex for their kids?

Sorry, but this mom can think of about a million more appropriate ways to talk to my kids about the dangers lurking on the internet. And, making a porn movie just never crossed my mind. But, maybe that’s just me.

After all, we wouldn’t teach them how bad a burn damage their skin by putting them in a fire would we? Exactly.
