Just remember that not all types of homeschooling are the same. There are so many options to create an excellent homeschool opportunity for your family.

How many types of homeschool options are there?

So. Many.

This is why it’s always interesting to find out more about families that are homeschooling their kids.

Unschooling

Unschooling is a fun way for kids to learn where they basically have no boundaries at all and are going at a pace and learning about what they want to learn about. Maybe one day they’re interested in dolphins, so the focus for the day is dolphins.

And maybe the next day, they want to learn how to bake a cake — so the focus for the day is learning how to cook and measure out the ingredients.

Unschooling has a very relaxed structure that allows for flexibility in the day and doesn’t use a set plan or schedule.

The teachings of Charlotte Mason are nothing new and have been around the homeschooling population for years. Her basic thought process is that the kids should be out and active, learning in nature

There is also a lot of reading that happens with homeschooling in this type of structure as well. You can find courses that give you all the information you need to be successful.

Virtual Learning

Since most parents have PTSD from this type of learning from the years of COVID, it’s gotten a bad rap. But to be honest, virtual learning is a great way for kids to be able to sit down, have a schedule for the day, and get their lessons completed.

There are some programs out there where the entire school year is done virtually. This means their day is more efficient, and the lessons are completely done and ready for them.

They just have to log in and do the work. Once they’re done, they’re done.

Homeschooling appeals to many parents for several reasons. One example is it gives children the flexibility to find their own passions and likes in life. It also gives them the chance to grow on their own, at their pace.

If you’re looking for a way you can continue the growth with your children in a way that benefits their education, homeschooling may be a great option for you.

Just be sure you abide by all the homeschooling laws and regulations in your state, as there are some states that do have very strict requirements.

Once you find out everything you’re legally obligated to do and teach, you’re well on your way to making homeschooling the best opportunity ever!
