Happy Blogiversary! It’s Been a Year!

happy blogiversary

“My first post went live on July 1, 2012, two days after I fuddled endlessly with a theme and getting things all set up on WordPress. I remember that day vividly, because I was filled with excitement, yet so terrified at the same time. Unlike blogging to generate awareness of a product or brand, I was jumping into blogging mainly because I needed and craved an outlet.”

That’s a quote from yours truly, four months after I started my blog. A year later, here we are. And what a year it has been! I’ve started and managed a number of blogs over the years. But they were all focused on various business-related topics. This little labor of love has been…personal. I questioned whether or not I would make it this far. Would I have the time? Would I lose interest? Was there room for yet another mom blogger? I’m glad to report that the answer to each question is YES! I have thrown myself into this MommiFried world and been loving every minute of it.

I’ve shared stories about my family, kids, what I’m cooking and even a dark secret, my struggle with OCD. There have been moments of frustration; even a two-week long hiatus when I swear I had my first-ever epic blog meltdown (long story for another day). I’ve lost confidence at times. I’ve cried. I’ve laughed – in a completely losing my marbles sort of way. I’ve experienced so many emotions along this blogging journey – both good and bad.

I’ve persevered because blogging has become an important part of my life. I feel a major sense of accomplishment and proud of the risks I’ve taken, not only with my writing, but with my career in general. I’ve also met the most amazing people! Fellow bloggers who I now call friends. Loyal readers from around the word (including college guys – you go boys!). Even PR and marketing reps who have nudged me into doing some reviews and giveaways.

It’s hard to believe that an entire year has passed since I wrote my first post – and yet it seems like it was just yesterday. (Or maybe the day before.) My humble, heartfelt and most sincere thanks to anyone who has ever read anything I’ve ever had to say!

To celebrate MommiFried’s one-year anniversary, I’m giving away a $25 Amazon gift card as a token of my appreciation. Just leave a comment below for your chance to win (winner will be chosen at random using an automated system – contest ends July 3, 2013 at 11:59 PM ET). I’m also leaving you with a great quote from one of my favorite poets and writers – Edgar Allan Poe:

“Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things that escape those who dream only at night.” ~ E.A.P.

(Never stop dreaming, my friends!)

And Happy Blogiversary to MommiFried (ummm, me)!
